The Comic Effect

Jonathan Pak in conjunction with Keith Deverell, Jodi Newcombe, and Bee Amuludun, developed The Comic Effect, an interactive installation at Federation Square. The Comic Effect is a real-time Comic made on the streets, using the audience for actors. In this fashion, a full 20 page comic can usually be made in about an hour.

The Light Matrix

The light matrix is a performative computer interface for rich expression and control over electronic music. • Spectral morphing.
  • Vocoding.
  • Timbrel control.
  • Granular synthesis.

Features:

  • Fully reflexive optics for visualisation and hand proximity measurement at 64 points.
  • Mapping software to translate gestures into MIDI messages and audio signals into light patterns.
